What is Pasture-Raised Poultry?
Very simply, it's chicken the way it is supposed to be.
Starting with baby chicks in brooders for the first three weeks:
The birds are then moved and raised outside on pasture.
They are kept in portable pens to protect them from predators.
The pens are moved every morning to fresh forage.
Along with all of the fresh grass and pasture they can eat,
we also feed them local grains, including corn, roasted soybeans and oats.
Lots of fresh air, sunshine, excercise and bugs - they are birds after all.
Pastured Poultry is incredibly rich in flavor and texture.
Why Choose Pasture-Raised Poultry?
Daily moving of small groups to clean, fresh pasture ensures
the highest quality of hygiene, low stress and a continuous source of new forage.
Our pastured chickens grow in a low-stress natural environment with plenty of
room to roam about and be...well...chickens.
Our on-farm hand processing of each individual bird guarantees clean, healthy food.
Our family and yours deserve wholesome, healthy, clean food.
Pasture raised meats have up to three times higher concentrations
of polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids (all of the good stuff).
Pasture raised meats are naturally lower
in saturated and monounsaturated fats (the bad stuff).
Thank you for trusting us with something so important as raising your food.
We only provide poultry to local customers, as we believe it is important for
each community's health, economy and environment to eat locally grown meat and produce.
